If you’ve been following us for a while, you know we love a good challenge - and this van conversion is a big one! The team has been hard at work transforming a regular van into a fully functional, adventure-ready camper, and we’re excited to give you a sneak peek into the process.
Where We Started
Every great build starts with a solid plan. For this project, we’re focusing on maximizing space, efficiency, and comfort while making sure everything is powered up and ready for off-grid adventures. From insulation to electrical setups, there’s a lot that goes into making a van feel like home.
Progress So Far
The workshop has been buzzing with activity (and yes, a fair bit of sawdust). Here’s what we’ve tackled so far:
✅ Insulation & Carpet – The van has been fully insulated to keep it warm in the winter and cool in the summer. We’ve also carpet-lined the interior with a light grey carpet, creating a sleek and cosy feel.
✅ Rock 'n' Roll Bed – The Fabworx 3/4 rock 'n' roll bed is built and ready to be put into place. This will not only give a comfy place to sleep but also function as seating when not in use, trimmed to match the front seats.
✅ Diesel Heater – The 2kW diesel heater has been installed and is ready to keep things toasty when the temperatures drop.
✅ Full Electrical Setup – The van is already equipped with an advanced electrical system, including a 100AH lithium battery, DC-DC charger, and solar panel kit. This setup will keep everything powered up, from the fridge to the lights and beyond.
We’re now ready for the next phase - getting everything installed into the van.

Challenges? Of Course!
No project is without its challenges - and this van conversion is no exception. We’ve encountered a few hurdles along the way, from making sure that every inch of space is used efficiently to choosing the best materials that can withstand years of travel.
One of the biggest challenges? Fitting everything into the van without making it feel cramped. We’ve had to get creative with the storage solutions, turning every little nook and cranny into a useful space.
Another challenge we faced was selecting materials that would be both durable and lightweight. We needed to balance comfort with practicality - so while the bed needs to be comfy, we also wanted it to be easy to assemble and disassemble.
But these hurdles are what make the project so rewarding. Problem-solving and adjusting on the fly are part of the fun - and we love seeing the conversion come together with each passing day.
What’s Next?
We’re not quite done yet, but we’re getting closer and closer to the finish line. Here’s what’s coming up next in the van conversion:
🔹 Furniture Installation – The Deluxe furniture kit (with an oak top and cream colour) is ready to be fitted. This includes additional storage space to keep everything neat and organized.
🔹 Water System & Fridge – We’ll be fitting two 12L water tanks with a submersible pump for fresh water, as well as the 50L fridge for keeping your food fresh.
🔹 Lighting & Power – We’re adding brushed aluminium lighting throughout the van, including along the pop top strengthening bar and above the sink. There will be multiple USB sockets and light switches for convenience.
